Reading this book felt like labor. God it took so long to get through this for some reason. The best part of this book was the last 20 or 30% and I wish more of the book has been like that. I will read the next one- this series has such a devoted fan base and is always going on about the story and how its so good. So I want to give it a fair shake before quitting it. This book was so close to a DNF for me if the next is similar I WILL DNF it. I have read some of Sarah J. Maas' other popular series Throne of Glass and that series gets better as it goes. So that gives me incentive to try book 2.
