The Reckoning
by Sharon Kay Penman
So sad! Of course I knew it would be, since obviously Wales is not an independent country, and Prince Charles is the Prince of Wales.
My only criticism is in regards to Llewelyn and Ellen's relationship. The way she wrote their love story echoed Simon & Nell's in the previous book, and Llewelyn and Joanna's in the first, to the point where it didn't seem genuine. Because of the reality of the huge age difference, and the difficult events that led to their marriage, it would have been more believable for them to have at best a close relationship without all the romance. That's the cynic in me, I guess.
