Fair Catch by Kandi Steiner

3.0

I read this in a single, two-hour sitting in which I don't think I blinked. It was entertaining and fun. I feel like Steiner used the woman playing college football thing well without making it all about the adversity she would face in that situation or ignoring it. I have no football knowledge so all of the dumb things that are inevitable and usually quite grating in sports romances flew over my head.

I guess this next bit is a touch of a spoiler, but I liked that it was a brother's best friend situation in which the brother was actually supportive and didn't treat his sister like an object, and that people in general were supportive of them. I guess the only problem with everyone being generally supportive is that the adversity that they dealt with was a bit dumb. Not that academic dishonesty isn't bad, and I get that it was like a spilling over of her previous mistrust from the accident but it still feels a bit silly or even juvenile to have it be your big drama. Regardless, I think romance is more fun if you don't try to critically overanalyze everything, and I am looking forward to reading the next one!
