This was a beautiful short tale about a red oak tree and the generations of life and love it has witnessed. It is the home for a vast community of wildlife and every year, the human residents tie their wishes to the oak's branches. This story follows the tree in modern day as it experiences modern issues like racism against Muslims, while also reflecting on the generations that have come before. The tree is at risk of being cut down, but the community rallies to save them so it may continue watching over and housing the next generations. Overall it was such a cozy sweet read.
