I really wanted to like this book. I gave it an extra half a star for diversity alone. I’m not a contemporary YA person, so I didn’t except to love this book but I didn’t expect to be so annoyed with the main character? They were all supposed to be 16-17 years old and I felt like Twinkle had the maturity level of a middle schooler for the first half? The romance picking up in the middle was honestly the best part but then Twinkle ruined it with her immaturity soooooo.
Anyway, if you’re in early high school or like contemporary YA you’ll probably like it a lot more than I did. Also the diversity was really well done and I feel like I actually learned a lot about Indian culture!
