Mama's Boy: A Story from Our Americas by Dustin Lance Black

5.0

I pride myself on having a book with me wherever I go and I bask in telling others my opinion on books they have yet to read. I have admired Lance long before reading this book. I listened to his speeches, so I was aware he knew how to make magic with his words. It took me a long time to finish this book. It’s the most honest and heart-wrenching book I have ever had the honor of reading. I shed many tears to this book and sometimes I thought it was too much for me to handle, but the possibility of stopping never crossed my mind. I will probably never recommend a book as earnestly as I do this one, but I do suggest you don’t read it before going to bed.
I have finally found the answer to the questions of "If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, which would it be?" and "If you could have a coffee with any author, alive or dead, which would it be?" - it is this one, and it’s this one.
