This is such an enjoyable, easy read. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series and I’m glad this one read just as well. The characters are lovable and I really find myself caring about what happens to them. Plus it was nice to start getting more of the backgrounds of the characters who had just been on the sidelines somewhat in the first book.
If you’re looking for a complex story or something to challenge your brain- this isn’t the story for you. It’s just the right balance of lightheartedness and action, if a little predictable.I’m also over the whole ‘I can’t be with them I’ll corrupt them’ trope. I don’t hate it but it’s in every one of these types of stories and I wish there was more of a solid reason for it plot wise than just for the sake of it.
All in all this is a fun, lighthearted fantasy story and I’ll definitely reread it in the future while impatiently waiting for the next one.
