I had enjoyed Kris as a character from the first two books in the series, so I was excited to hear more about her (and her contentious relationship with her father and stepmothers). And I think Nate was a perfect match for her. However, it may have been the audiobook narrator's tone, but she came off as snootier than I would have liked during some parts of this book, so it made it a little harder to root for her as a protagonist. As for Nate, I feel like the male escort sideplot felt a little over-the-top and possibly unnecessary. But by the end, I think Kris and Nate were well-matched for each other!
