The Name of the Rose

Definitely a slog in places--it's in love with language and knowledge, and this often takes the form of digressions and catalogues. But I liked its central thesis, the mystery, and the relationship between William and Adso. I saw why it was doing what it was doing, even if it didn't always engage me.
