Dirty Laundry: Why Adults with ADHD Are So Ashamed and What We Can Do to Help by Richard Pink, Roxanne Emery
4.0
Ok so I’m completely unfamiliar with their tiktok bc my adhd says I am absolutely not allowed to use tiktok. I liked some things in the book. The parts written by Rox about how she experiences the symptoms was, as always, revelatory. For instance, her adult impulsivity manifesting as conceiving of businesses…and wanting to drop everything to follow through with them 🫣🥴
The parts written by her husband were also good I guess? Intended to be read by an ADHDers partner to understand their partner better and be able to support them better. But like, idk maybe people without that shouldn’t even read the book bc it’s upsetting if you realize you have high support needs and don’t have access to this kind of help. She kinda acknowledges the privilege she experiences being married to him at one point and then just moves on so idk truly I’m not sure who this book is for.
