Tired as F*ck: Burnout at the Hands of Diet, Self-Help, and Hustle Culture by Caroline Dooner

challenging emotional hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

This was a good introduction to the idea of rest and how to combat the guilt many Americans feel about taking real rest and shedding expectations. I have read more helpful versions of this message and I didn't expect this to be an autobiography. There was a lot I could identify with in this book but I wish it had been written differently. It felt like a diary/blog and I was hoping for more talk about burnout and perhaps some stories that were not personal to the author. If you struggle with guilt around rest or feel oppressed by the expectations of others this is a helpful book that will touch the surface of the issue and encourage an examination of your lifestyle.
