Wait for You by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Gosh, this one was such a surprise for me! This book will always have a special place in my heart. Before picking this gem up, I would solely read paranormal romance/fantasy. This book was my first step into the world of contemporary romance, and since then I've never looked back. I trust Jen and her writing and I knew that reading one of her books as the first step into a new genre was the way I needed to go. She did not disappoint!
This book is about Avery and Cam, two college students who bump into each other on their first day, literally.
Cameron Hamilton is perfect. There's really no better word to describe this man. He's tall, blue-eyed, and has dark-hair... need I say more? I kid, I kid. Cam is Mr. Popular and proficient in the art of charming. I was over here simping and he wasn't even talking to me. Above all, the best thing about Cam is his patience. Avery is no stranger to trauma. She has a pretty big secret and it definitely molded her into who she is today. At first, she's not ready to open her heart up to Cam, and he gets it. Even though he has no idea what's holding her back, he waits for her. Even though he'd like to be more, Cam is perfectly fine with just being Avery's friend and a good one at that. It's even a running joke throughout the book that Cam asks her out every single day and she always says no. When she finally says yes I was jumping up and down.
I would also like to give a shout out to my boy Raphael!
If I had to describe this book in one word, I would choose wholesome. Though there is a serious topic in the book, to me, it was a very feel-good book. The flirting was so cute. Avery is the girl next door and gosh Cam is just so stinking sweet. If you're in need of a book that'll make you smile and root for our main characters, look no further!
