The first book I've read in this genre, where to begin! In general, I liked this book. I thought the concept was interesting (feels like the hunger games meets Cinderella in the beginning, morphs into beauty and the beast meets twilight, then morphs into something else entirely). I thought the characters were mostly interesting and well thought out, but I'm not 100% sold on the main character. I honestly really liked the first half of the book. Lots of intrigue and steam and fascinating faerie magic things. The second half took a dark turn that I don't think the first half prepared the characters or the reader for...still a relatively satisfying ending. But a lot of violence! I am curious to read more of the series but hope there will be more world building and mystery and romance and less gore. We shall see!
