The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
by Grady Hendrix
challenging
dark
mysterious
sad
tense
medium-paced
This book was such a wild ride! I went in expecting more of a thriller, but it definitely leans heavy into horror (and some parts were way darker than I was ready for). I loved the Southern setting and the way the book club women stuck together when no one else believed them, it gave the story so much heart and grit. The pacing dragged in a few places, but once things picked up, I couldn’t put it down. Grady Hendrix really knows how to mix creepy with emotional, and this one will stick with me for a while. Just a heads up though: check the trigger warnings before diving in, because I wish I had!
