Acorn Was a Little Wild by Jessica Gibson, Jen Arena

4.0

I had a chance to read this book to multiple classes for Read Across America. This is the perfect book for grades 2 and 3. Acorn is an adventurous spirit who chooses to explore and experience despite warnings to make safe decisions. Eventually, Acorn puts down roots, changing and expanding but never losing his wild spark. Such a fun story to share with children the life cycle from seed to tree and also to engage them in conversation about how sometimes scary things help us grow and that change is part of becoming.
