Beauty and the Mustache by Penny Reid

2.0

I know that I recently said that I wanted to read more non-traditional rom-coms, and since this one took place in the fmc’s childhood home while her mother was undergoing hospice care in the bedroom downstairs, this book would probably would qualify under that umbrella but this was absolutely not what I meant. I think the setting of a romance happening with a hospice care in the background would work for a sweet romance, but when raunchy jokes are being make and spicy scenes are occurring all while a beloved family member is downstairs dying of cancer it makes the romance aspects incredibly off putting. Definitely was dragging my feet to finish this one.
