Blade Breaker
by Victoria Aveyard
I’m in pain. I haven’t stopped crying yet. Every time I read a Victoria Aveyard book I prepare myself for pain but it is never enough. I don’t think I’ll be able to emotionally recover from everything Victoria Aveyard has done to me. I need the next book in my hands right now! Anyway, emotional rant aside, the book was blooming brilliant, just like all of Victoria Aveyard’s books. The worldbuilding in this series is mind-blowing and I can’t quite get my head around how Aveyard created this amazing world. It’s so in depth and there is so much happening all the time, it’s hard to comprehend in the best of ways. This series reminds me so much of The Lord of the Rings and I love that! The characters are all amazing with their own individual strengths and I love them all and will be fearing for them every day until I have book 3 in my grasp. There is a hint of romance emerging, two great slow-burns, and I’m excited to see where they go in the future. Another thing I love about this series is the villains. I don’t love the villains at all, I despise them, but I like that in a book. I like villains that I can hate and root against and cheer for their downfall, and though I spend most of Erida’s perspective raging at her, it’s still interesting to read. I highly recommend this series and Victoria Aveyard’s other books and will be impatiently waiting for the next book!
