Lips Touch: Three Times by Laini Taylor

3.0

3 STARS

"Kissing can ruin lives. Lips touch sometimes teeth clash. New hunger is born with a throb and caution falls away."

Laini Taylor's writing would always be the highlight in every one of her stories, whether they be novels or short stories like this one. She always brings that fairytale-like quality into her storytelling.

I basically have no complaints with this one. Objectively, I think this is the best short story collection I've read. But I don't solely base my rating on technicalities alone. I rate for enjoyment, and this one had a hard time grabbing my attention that it took me almost two months to finish.

That's about it for the 3 star rating. But other than that, the three stories in here are immaculate. All have significance with the word "kiss" - as the title dictates - but they're never cheesy. Woven with bits of mythology and Taylor's signature tragedy, the stories felt like classics themselves.

Anyone who's a fan of Laini Taylor would surely enjoy this more than I did.
