The Exchange by John Grisham
1.0
This book feels like John Grisham wrote it while he was asleep. There are long passages of author narrative (telling, not showing), and when the vapid, faceless characters are occasionally awakened, they stumble through stale scenes uttering trite, predictable dialogue.
In his prime, Grisham was one of my favorite novelists. But maybe it's time for the great man to retire.
