i’m kinda shooked by the ending?!?! but definitely a good and enjoyable read… the atmosphete just felt real and lovely and whimsical to me and i love these kinds of stories! and the way the setting often mirrored dina’s internal world

don’t know what to make of certain aspects of the book though… the ending, some parts of dina’s internal monologue (though they added so much value and insight). the ending was unexpected but i guess it further reinforces the point about how dina does what she has to do, although i wish we’d seen some more character development. not that i’m expecting every character to be perfect and reach a position of morality but i don’t feel like i’ve gotten a satisfying conclusion to her, especially when her story stretches across so much time. i admire and respect her, but i also see when she’s heavy handed and cruel. i appreciate the complexities of her character though and overall have grown to enjoy her narration! interesting MC
