This story was both extremely angering and yet heartwarming. Frankie's journey from a hopeful young woman that wants to do the right thing, to a broken woman is tragic and well-written. The love, support, and understanding among the women, when no one else would see or hear them was beautiful.
I learned so much about a war that is rarely truly discussed, and certainly not from a woman's POV. I had no idea that people - including the military - just straight up denied that women even existed in Vietnam aiding in the war. Or that the horrors could not possibly have affected them.
