The Unexpected Guest by Charles Osborne, Agatha Christie
2.0

Agatha Christie books tend to fall into 3 categories for me: 1) amazing, 2) mediocre comfort reading, and 3) deeply problematic in a way that makes me worry if I googled it I’d find out she flirted with the eugenics movement when it was popular. By the rating you can probably guess this falls in 3. A bit less emphasis on genetics this time, but a strong emphasis on the necessity of institutionalization for disabled adults, who are implied to always be “dangerous” for unclear (nonexistent) reasons. Ugh.
