I don't read a ton of King, I've only read 2 other books by him, and one of those was Fairy Tale which was a huge departure from his typical works. This was wonderful, and classic in the best way. I think this is more of a tragedy than a horror novel and the mixed media approach through the secondary reports and interviews was a nice touch. I do think some of the writing was a bit simple, but the pace was spot on. The world was well developed for how short this little story was. The context from Kings intro on the 50th anniversary edition I think added to my experience in a positive way. Overall, a great time, not an all time fav.
