A great concept presented along with a set of sympathetic characters with plenty of spark. It suffered a bit from long descriptive and action sequences with limited dialogue and character interactions though that was probably a necessary consequence of the setting and structure. The ending also felt rather abrupt, like the action came to a stop right as things were really beginning to pick up. The writing and sense of place were excellent, however, making this still a four star read for me. I will be checking out Howey's other work.
