A short and quick read, it is cute. Good if you are trying to get into reading. It really, really reminds me of wattpad. The tropes, the dude, the romance, not that it is a bad thing, but I can see how it would irritate someone. There is a lot of representation in the book, and shows both the importance of love and friendships.
Personally, I would have liked if Adamtook more accountability for being a dick because those kinds of mentors are the worst and insinuates that he is only nice to Olive because he likes her. As much as I like Adam and how sweet he is to Olive, the whole two-faced thing keeps bugging me. All he did was apologise to Malcom, was he going to continue being an ass? Also, I have never gotten so much second-hand embarrassment during a sex scene before, maybe that makes things authentic.
I really would've liked it more if Tom Benton wasn't a repulsive sexual harrasser, it just feels cheap and makes him one dimensional. Then again, SA in academia should be talked about more. Everything wrapped up perfectly for the characters in the end.
This book was not show-stopping for me but it was EXTREMELY fun to read, especially with friends to bicker about the troped (there are many). So many things (lotion scene, 2nd kiss) could've been avoided but somehow got written into the bible.
