Glasses in the first sentence, baby! Age gap really works for me if the younger character is the pursuer. And is a dragon. And the older character is a half-dead necromancer who wears glasses and has black pointy teeth, but it’s a look that works for him. This book has everything (the aforementioned), one night stand at a roadside inn, arranged marriage,
border disputes due to waterway course changes, evil giants who can be destroyed by a wicked pan pipe solo,
mutual grumpy pining, and a castle that’s got good bones but needs some work.
