Going There by Katie Couric
5.0
emotional funny informative inspiring lighthearted reflective sad medium-paced

As a Katie approaching 40, Katie Couric has been a pillar in my life for as long as I can remember. I first "found" her when I was young and trying to make that huge decision of going by Katie or Katherine in school.  If Katie Couric could be successful as Katie, so could I. Then as I moved to college, Katie was part of my weekday morning routine.  I turned to her on 9/11 when I was young and so unsure of what was happening around us.
I've watched her career moves, some great, some not as great, and noticed that she's always smiling. She embraced social media and that has allowed me to continue to have her part of my daily life as well.
I enjoyed getting to know more of her life story - learning details about her family, her daughters, details about her career at NBC, where I now work. (It's funny how that worked out.)
Katie Couric is always my answer to the "who would you like to have dinner with" question and this book felt a little like that dinner conversation I hope to have one day. She did "go there" on a lot of topics and I'm glad she did.
