Some really great visuals and descriptions. The plot early on takes some weird turns that don't mesh well with the latter half, but I enjoyed Kane and Arwen's dynamic. She learns to hold her own among his court/castle while also being a healer first and foremost. A number of moments between them made me laugh, and Arwen's relationship with the other weirdos around the castle was sweet. Yeah, it cops a lot from contemporary ya romantasy novels, but I found the writing and characters enjoyable enough to forget about that.
