This book was pretty good! It’s nothing earth shattering, but it was a pleasant read for vacation! And I am biased, because I did love reading about a travel nurse!
I found the romance between Justin and Emma very cute, the author did a good job writing in both perspectives. Justin’s story was interesting and his siblings were fun additions. Emma was a sweet character, I appreciated her empathy-centered personality. But Maddie was my favorite (maybe biased again :), I could read another book with just her. At times, the romance felt really drawn out, there was a point in the audiobook where I had three hours left overall and I was about to return it. Emma was also the most frustrating character for me. I felt like I was screaming at her to open up her eyes about her mother. Obviously I think it’s making the author’s point, but listening to her defend Amber over and over was hair pulling. Maddie seemed like the only sane person in this book.
I do wish I read her previous books, there are some character tie-ins that I was sad I didn’t get. Overall I would read this author again!
