Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

What a peculiar book! :-) What originally intrigued me about this book was the cover and all of the photographs in the book. Also the book trailer is fabulous! If you haven't seen it, go watch it. I'm glad that I have finally finished this because it had been in my TBR pile for a while.

I bought this in ebook format but ended up listening to it on audio which I'm glad I ended up listening too. I liked the narrator. Even with the photos that are a must see, I think this book is meant to be read aloud.

This is a very unique story and one that I haven't ever really heard of before. The writing style makes the story flow and really develop the story. I liked the mystery behind the story. Jacob was a great male main character because he is smart and crafty. I liked the relationship he had with his grandfather even though I think that really upset his father a lot. Kind of creepy with the whole grandpa, Jacob and Emma relationship.

Parts of the story were predictable but I was surprised with some of the outcomes.

I thought this was going to be a stand alone novel but I think it could go either way with the way the story ended.

I read online that they are thinking about turning this into a movie with Tim Burton directing it which will be perfect!
