Angry God
by L.J. Shen
This is up there with The Kiss Thief as my favourite LJ Shen book.
Vaughn in my opinion, is an even more interesting character than his father Vicious. There are times you will want to hate him, but you cannot bring yourself to do so, because you know there is so much more to his story than whats on the surface.
The love/hate relationship between Vaughn and Lenny is similar to his parents Vicious and Emilia's origin story. However there are so many more layers to their relationship, more genuine reasons to dislike each other and more things in common than they would like to admit.
There are so many great reveals and twists throughout this story. The reader thinks they are heading in one direction and then they are pulled off in another. It's fantastic seeing Vicious as a father, and being treated to some things from his perspective.
Vaughn and Lennys, love/hate story spans years and continents. It's the definition of epic love. It changes them both in ways I don't think either expected.
A definite 5 star read. LJ Shen continues to blow me away with her characters.
