I enjoyed this newest addition to the Frankie Elkin series! I love Frankie as a character, she’s witty and I admire how passionate she is, she will stop at nothing until the mystery is solved. I really liked the side characters in this story, I love the way the author develops her characters so that even one which appears very little in the book leaves such a big impact! There were some laugh out loud moments which I appreciated as this gave me a short time out from the darker parts of the story. The topic of this book is an important one, the story follows Frankie whilst she is looking for Sabera, a missing Afghan refugee. Although in places it’s a tough read, it highlights the struggles refugees face and was really eye-opening for me. I wasn’t fully engaged for the whole book, I found parts of the plot to be a little complicated to understand which I had trouble with in the first book of the series too. Overall I enjoyed this and would recommend this series!
Thank you so much to NetGalley, publisher and author for this ARC!
