Lauren Asher's heroines are incredible. I love Zahra and now I love Iris just as much, and I can't wait to see their friendship blossom further in the next/future books. Iris is so smart and so strong and so kickass. I honestly would read a fiction book solely on Iris and everything she's overcome and growing up with her mom and Nana.
Declan, I would go through phases of hating his guts and swooning, at one point I was ready to fight over how stupid he was being. But I am a sucker for a second chance and groveling. Declan is your typical daddy issues, emotionally stunted, grumpy billionaire business man who has been too blind to see that he has had eyes for his right hand woman for a while. Learning all the small things he did for Iris was incredibly sweet.
Lauren Asher got me again, I definitely cried over parts of this story. I don't know why I'm shocked. I can not wait for books 3, Cal's story. I am guessing it's some sort of second chance romance, and I hoping we get more of Cal's humor-which I am obsessed with. I can't wait for the glimpses we are going to get of Zahra/Rowan + Iris/Declan. I love how Asher incorporates them back into each book.
I strongly recommend these books. Once you start it's so easy to see why they are a sensation on tiktok and instagram.
