The Originals: The Loss
by Julie Plec
Honestly I wasn’t feeling this book at all. The characters just weren’t themselves.
The Original siblings made a pact “remain together always and forever” is the famous saying. After a hurricane destroys the Mikaelson’s city, they have to rebuild New Orleans and it’s glory. One thing is for sure Klaus Mikaelson wants more power, a witch casts a spell and a bloodbath begins.
Rebekah actually shows maturity which being the youngest of the two she was never one to be mature. Elijah was always the one to take care of his crazy siblings, but yet it’s Rebekah.
Elijah gets development, but honestly not that much. Although Klaus lost his love interest Elijah gains one which is surprising because Elijah usually has to look out for his brother.
Klaus is in mourning, but his character has completely changed. He’s this lovable asshole who you hate because he’s egotistical and evil, yet he is less broody.
To sum this book up it’s literally countless bloodbaths. I wish I was joking, but the amount of times someone fought and died in this book was over the top. I get the Mikaelson’s kill, but you don’t need basically half of the book to just be death, death, death. We would actually like to see some sibling bonding like they did in the show.
