The Bombshell Effect by Karla Sorensen
4.0
Okay unrelated but somewhat related because it'll have to do with the review: I have about 6 mosquito bites on my person right now and to tell you I'm not considering skinning them off of my body would be a lie. The reason I'm letting everyone know this is because I want to close this off and go to bed to hopefully end the itchiness.
BUT, in book-related news, this was great. Super cute, light, and quick. I love me a good sports romance and although none have come quite close to my girl Mariana Zapata, this one was still pretty great.
Allie is now in charge of a football team that she believes she has no business owning, but at her father's remaining wish she does what she needs to do to fit in and hold this all together. Moving into her new house, she decides to be neighbourly and instead comes face to face with her neighbour Luke... who isn't neighbourly. He wants her gone and off of his yard, not knowing that she is the new owner of the team he plays for - which is fine because Allie has no idea that she lives next to her star QB. The two of them force themselves into a truce but when there is clearly an explosive chemistry there... it has to come out in one way or another. Problem is, Luke is set on winning the Super Bowl and will not let anything get in his way.
FINALLY I READ A BOOK I LIKE.
I'm sorry my lil blurb is kinda blah but I already told everyone why we're here now. If you want more info, the actual summary can do enough to rope you in.
I loved Luke, Allie and Luke's daughter Faith. They all fit so perfectly together. Faith was honestly so adorable, although I think the way her character was written felt like she was more 8/9 than 6.. but then again, I don't know how a 6 year old should be talking nowadays. When I was 6.... it was a lot of struggling to speak coherently lol.
ANYWAYS, CUTE BOOK. I ENJOYED IT. THANK GOD.
I was truly losing hope.
