i truly (no pun intended) liked this book quite a bit. lovable characters, intriguing setting and a solid mystery. the plot twist didn’t really make sense but it’s pretty obviously set up to be explained in the next instalment of the series (at least i hope so lol).
representation of mental health and lgbtq+ people was handled pretty well in my opinion and woven into the overall narrative quite nicely.
one thing is, that there really isn’t any final reveal/resolution in regards to the mystery and it’s multiple subplots so you really can’t read this as a stand-alone. personally i don’t really mind that, since i’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series but i get how that might be frustrating to some.
overall though, i enjoyed this. an easy read but still well-written — definitely recommend.
