I was excited to be getting Thea's story after getting glimpses of her in the first book and being left with so many unanswered questions.

Unfortunately, this book fell very flat for me. It felt very much like a filler book in the series. After loving the balance of suspense and romance in the first book I was expecting the same from this book and I was let down. There is very little suspense in this and it is very much a romance, so keep that in mind before you decide to read it. It was a slow-burn and by the 50% mark, I found myself losing interest and hoping the story would pick up, but it didn't and this took me way longer to read because of that. I thought about DNFing but I wanted to see it through in case I needed details in the latter half of the book to understand things in the next book. After finishing the book, I'm not sure that it made a difference, but I won't know until I pick up book three.
