Slow paced in a way that serves to draw you further in to the characters’ interior lives, Ford Madox Ford’s tetralogy was a book I carried from room to room and fell asleep beside for weeks. As technically and stylistically accomplished as it is emotionally evocative, this is one of the books I will never get over.
