Runner's World Train Smart, Run Forever: How to Become a Fit and Healthy Lifelong Runner by Following the Innovative 7-Hour Workout Week
by Bill Pierce, Scott Murr, Editors of Runner's World Maga
Written for the middle-aged or older runner, which I am. This made it a nice change from most of the books on running that I've read that are clearly geared to a much younger audience. This book clearly recognises the importance of recovery time, as well as cross training, strength and mobility work.
I only give it 3 stars, as it is geared to runners who are interested in running long distances - at least half marathons, if not a full marathon. There was no information on how you might go about modifying their suggested training plan if you are only interested in 5K or 10K distances. I suspect one size does not fit all.
