This was so bizarrely written. There was tons of plot shoved into this book with no explanation, no exploration, no character development. The dialogue was so cringeworthy, I literally cringed while reading it. Like, idk, but if someone admitted to me that she’d been molested starting when she was 11 by an older man who was still part of the MC and I had a DAUGHTER in that very MC, I’d do more than go, “Oh no. That’s awful.” And then never talk about it again. !!!!!!!!!! Like, WHAT?? And that’s how it was in this entire book. Serious conversations were dropped randomly throughout without any lead up, explanation, or reaction. Dialogue can be great, but if we don’t have any exposition to tell us how the characters are feeling, the book comes off as shallow and unrealistic.

I downloaded this bc it was recommended as a take care of her after an abusive ex book and…I did not get that. I was hoping for an overprotective, sweet hero who was good with the kid. What I got was a wishy washy hero who couldn’t even get the men under him to call him pres and a kid who was only mentioned by name in passing.

Ridiculous, boring, underdeveloped, and did I mention ridiculous?
