3.5

I'm disappointed in only one thing: the lack of development.

This actually has a great story, great characters, and yet... it's "explored" at such a rapid blink-and-you'll-miss-it pace that it feels like the story got pushed aside for the sake of getting to the ending. With slower pacing and more time to flesh everything out it could have been an epic unto itself, not just a "0.5" in a series.

The story goes by so fast I'm pretty sure all of the events take place in the span of a week (no, really...
3 days travel, 2 evenings, 1 outing, 1 play
...I'm pretty sure that was it), which is mind boggling to me.

Instead of the mutual, deep relationship that it easily could have been (every seed was there), it's a lust at first sight story that left me wanting so much more with these characters that just got...skipped.

I honestly expected to not like this title at all. I really don't go for this genre, and I only read it as part of a little book club I'm in, but i REALLY liked the characters, the setup, just about everything about it...but none of it was given any time, and I really feel like I missed out on a great story because of it.
