King of Sword and Sky by C.L. Wilson

5.0

It just gets better and better. I like the consistency of The Tairen Soul series. It is great for those are interested in diving into the series by planning to read all the books, one after the other. I can't imagine the torment past readers must have had, waiting for the next book to come out given how C.L Wilson loves to end her books. It is not a cliffhanger, the book just ends...randomly? In King of Sword and Sky, we travel to the Fading Lands and meet various Fey and tairen & prepare for the war against the Eld.

The stakes are high as always. The mages' evil know no bounds and of course, of course High Mage Vadim Maur concocted a

among many other unspeakable acts. Being such long-lived creatures, the Fey were totally blindsided...they never "checked" themselves, I guess?

Many new characters are introduced in King of Sword and Sky, some of whom have a familial relation to Ellie (unbeknown to her, of course, the poor chit). It makes me eager for the chapter where Ellie and other Fey come to possess the knowledge of Ellie's true parentage.
