I don’t even know where to begin with this one because I am so absolutely in love with it. I read this much slower than most other books because I just never wanted it to end. The world buildings is expanded so well in this book and is something that the author does really well in general. The characters make everything worth it, and I found myself too attached to all their storylines. The plot had me screaming, crying, and smiling. The writing is stunning and makes me feel like I am really in the world, experiencing everything myself.
The world that Hafsah Faizal built is a truly breathtaking one, and I wish I could live in this world forever. I loved learning more about how magic worked and how it affected the world. I also like how she expanded on how the different creatures all interacted with each other.
I love every single one of the main characters, and I love that they all have such unique and different relationships with one another. I would read a whole book just filled with their banter. The Romantic relationship that played out was stunning. The build-up had me screaming for them to just be together, it was the best and the worst feeling rolled into one.
This book played with my heart. Like I was angry, relieved, and worried that one of my faves might die. The author really said I’m going to do everything in my power to toy with your emotions. Halfway through, I was sitting around thinking about how the characters could possibly fix anything, but somehow they pulled it off, and it is truly one of the most epic adventures I have ever read.
The way this writing pulls me in every time is honestly astonishing. Writing isn’t usually something I notice, but I have to say something when it is this good.
This is not only one of my fave reads of the year it is one of my favorite ever.
