Linus has worked for DICOMY for years, and has always been able to follow the rules and regulations when it comes to reviewing foster homes for special children. He is tasked with visiting a home by upper upper management and is encouraged to stick to how he has always done things. Once Linus gets to the home he finds what he does not expect from in many regards. Will he be able to remain objective or will he learn more about himself and what it means to be truly happy?

This is my second time reading this book, because the book club that I am in picked it for this month's read. I have to say it was just as good the second time around! I chose to listen to the audio version this time to see if it would hit differently or if I would love it just as much. The audio book was such a joy to listen to, I loved hearing the different voices that Daniel Henning put with each child, listening to the audio book brought each of the characters more to life.

I loved the relationship and how it develops between Linus and Arthur throughout the book. It is always such a joy when two characters bring out the best in one another and when they bring out things in each other that the person may not know about themselves. Additionally the relationships between all of the children is adorable. I loved the dialogue between the characters.

One of the things that I love about how TJ Klune writes is that I always have an emotional reaction of some kind. This book made me tear up, laugh, and warmed my heart as I revisited these characters. I am very excited for the sequel to come out later this year.

Have you read The House in the Cerulean Sea? What did you think?
