Meant for Gabriel by Natasha Madison
4.0

Something I've really loved about this series is the amount of time we get to see the main characters as a couple. Don't get me wrong, I love the romances where there's this big build-up to them finally getting together. But there's just something about seeing the characters build on their relationship. That being said, there's still always a third act conflict that makes you question exactly what's going to happen and how they're going to work through that issue. So, not everything is all clean and neat from the beginning.

After discovering her fiance has been cheating on her, Zara decides she needs to get out of the city for a little while. Without giving her family the full story, they let her do her own thing, knowing she'll be safe with family friends. Zara didn't plan on meeting anyone, but Gabriel is intriguing and a vacation fling might just be exactly what she needs. It was only supposed to be two weeks, but two pink lines will change anyones plans. But how are they supposed to make it work when he lives in a small town in the South and she lives in New York City?

The chemistry between Gabriel and Zara is undeniable, and their banter is fantastic. It was hard not to be giddy when you saw them interact with each other. I really enjoyed how their relationship developed throughout the story, and I appreciated all the nuances around figuring out how to make everything work between them. It's honestly a little hard to write this review without giving anything away, so just know that I really liked how everything around the accidental pregnancy played out. And, of course, it was awesome seeing all the cameos from so many of Natasha's previous books.

I still have a large portion of Natasha's backlist to read, including her Souther series and her Made For series, both of which this series is a spin-off of. Even with that, I was able to enjoy this story and understand everything going on, so this one can easily be read as a standalone.
