This just wasn't happening for me ... DNF at chapter 13. First off, the narrator. Caitlin Davies is not bad, but I'd heard her recently ([b:Balanced on the Blade's Edge|21797289|Balanced on the Blade's Edge (Dragon Blood, #1)|Lindsay Buroker|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1396094126l/21797289._SY75_.jpg|41051808], [b:Ezaara|42232155|Ezaara (Riders of Fire, #1)|Eileen Mueller|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1538988332l/42232155._SY75_.jpg|65840546]the Talon series, [b:Bright Young Things|7719248|Bright Young Things (Bright Young Things, #1)|Anna Godbersen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1339953783l/7719248._SY75_.jpg|10463204]) the former being similar fantasy, so my brain was mixing up the books somewhat. And while I'm fine with "room" being pronounced "rum" if everything is accented ... but it's that one word.

And then there was the book itself - it was only okay, and then it just felt like it was attempting to add sexual/body content everywhere, it was just annoying. So much about her being naked (when her rescuers remove her dress to find her bare, her memories of walking around naked in her village), about the boy's reaction to her (body parts reacting), about her breasts, her loins, walking around in just underwear, walking in a couple having sex, really liking proFanity (ooh, a new swear word!), asking about "mating before marriage" ... just enough. It was awkward and amateurish and eye-rolling.

I only have a limited time left on my Audible Plus plan, so I'm not going to continue to spend time on something I'm not enjoying at all.
