My local bookclub has forced me out of my sci-fi/fantasy comfort zone decently often. I’ve decided not all thrillers are terrifying. That being said, “The Teacher” hit some of my absolute yucks and I decided to DNF at 47%.
Again, this is my personal icks speaking, but if you’re into thrillers and you like some of McFadden’s other books - the narration was great. The pacing of the book seemed well laid out, and the dual POV was an interesting journey. Please watch your personal triggers and enjoy.

The three main reasons I chose to DNF:
- MC Cheating (implied AND explicit)
- student / teacher sexual situation-ship and power dynamic (DNF’d when it became more than just visual ogling. No idea if it progressed further.)
- obviously stated “it all happened because of that thing” but that thing is never explained.
