The Fran Lebowitz Reader by Fran Lebowitz

Few writers capture the insufferable pretentiousness, hilarious indefatigability, and street-specific cliques of New York as well as Fran Lebowitz. One part curmudgeon, one part snark, all wit. Some of these pieces have aged poorly. It's entertaining, but this book often reads like one-sided commiserations. All we can do is listen and laugh as much as we want.
