Surprised at my rating? I am too! Anyone that knows me knows I am not a fan of romance novels. I read very few of them, preferring a good murder mystery, thriller or psychological suspense. But sometimes, after reading several heavy or depressing books in a row I need something lighter to cleanse my palate if you know what I mean.
I grabbed this one off my book shelf then put it back. Scanned other spines on my shelves and picked this one up again. Thinking the cover looked a little to silly for my tastes I put it back again. I continued to search my shelves but finding only more of my favorite types of reads I picked this one up again and decided to try it.
I LOVED it! Similar to movies like While You Were Sleeping (which is actually listed in the book) and Picture Perfect this one tugged at my heartstrings. I actually love rom-com movies even though I don't like similar books. There is something about the underdog getting the girl that just makes me melt.
This one I can see in my head as a rom-com movie, even imagining who they could cast (Mathew McConaughey as NOB would be perfect!) and I would be first in line to buy tickets. Seriously film producers- you need to do this as a movie.
Cute, a little ridiculous (face it, aren't all rom-coms?) but oh-so-sweet. This one is an emphatic 5 stars!
