This was a fun read! I think its strongest selling point is Stiefvater’s prosaic style. It’s different. She puts words together in ways I haven’t seen before and I almost miss that she does it because it seems so natural that those words should be next to each other.
Other reviewers were right when they said that this was a LONG book, though. She takes a while to get to the point. The characters can sometimes fall into YA formulas, and cease to be original, but that’s a genre hazard.
I totally did not expect the twist; that was very well-done. Will be reading the next book in the series.
